E-newsletters and Emails

Keeping in touch with your customers has never been easier!   As long as you get it right, there's no excuse to not keep junk mail to a minimum and provide your clients with useful information.

Sometimes a printed newsletter might be just the thing but usually it's an expensive and time consuming process compared to working "online".

E-newsletters or email updates, invitations and surveys have pretty much taken over where printing left off and the main reason is cost effectiveness.   For as little as around £7.50 a month you can send emails to hundreds of contacts, in your own corporate style and turn them round in less than an hour.  There are many providers out there and we do recommend you use sombody who knows what they're doing.

If you try to send a few hundred emails yourself to a mailing list chaces are you'll get them all bounced back as "spam".  Using a 3rd party service with their own servers is a more efficient way to do this, it looks more professional too.  We use Constant Contact and they've been very good so far.

Like other forms of direct marketing, you must remember data protection and it's really important that recipients can "unsubscribe" easily.  With a small piece of code added to your website, you can usually invite people to subscribe which is by  far the best way.

What do you put in them then?

Tempting though it is to sell, sell, sell - e-newsletters, blogs and email updates work best when they're giving away free information.  So any tips and hints, product info or useful links are the key.
